The School of Fine Arts

Architectural design services for a new “School of Fine Arts” for the Municipality of Cayey, Puerto Rico, presently the “Escuela Especializada en Bellas Artes de Cayey - Miguel Á. Juliá Collazo. The facilities are in the heart of the town of Cayey, providing after-school program for fine arts, music, and crafts education, as part of the Government’s Special Communities program for the central mountain region. The facilities are designed for a 1,200-student population that includes a performing arts theater with a 1,000-seating capacity. The present complex was built in two phases and inaugurated in 2007 and 2010 at a cost of $15M. The success of the project generated an additional phase under the sponsorship of the P.R. Infrastructure Administration (AFI) completed in 2014-15.
